Beech Hall is a non-selective school and the ethos of the school is that of helping every child fulfil their potential, through a genuinely bespoke and child-centred approach to education.
Students can join at any point during the school year or term providing there is sufficient space within the classroom or Year group. Parents are always welcome to visit the school, and the School Registrar will be happy to book an appointment to meet with the Headmaster or other staff of the school. We also hold more regular Open Mornings and other events throughout the year.
As a non-selective school, there is no entrance examination for admission to Beech Hall School. Instead, and following an informal meeting between the parents and the Headmaster, every child will be invited to participate in the life of the school for up to 3 days. This allows us to understand the very specific and unique abilities, learning styles and needs of each child to enable us to create a Beech Hall plan for each and every child.
Prior to attending these ‘taster days’, parents are required to complete the Registration Form and the Registration Fee is payable at this point.
Prospective pupils are made to feel very welcome during their ‘taster days’ and are “buddied” with a volunteer pupil who will support them during their stay. They will participate fully in the life of the school and this will allow the Headmaster and the staff to determine whether or not we are able to fully meet the needs of the pupil. Parents will be given detailed feedback by the Form Teacher and senior staff members. Once a place is offered, a pupil may start as soon as the Acceptance Fee and first term’s fees are paid in full.
Admission to Beech Hall Nursery follows a similar process. Following an enquiry at Beech Hall, the Nursery Manager or Deputy will contact a prospective parent to arrange a visit to view the nursery facilities and meet the staff. Nursery 'settles' can also be arranged for each child to visit and spend a short period within their allocated room to ensure every child is eased into their new environment by meeting the children and staff. Sessions can then be agreed between the Manager and parent.
