The Great Beech Hall Bake Off

The heat in the kitchen is rising at Beech Hall School as pupils are going head-to-head in the highly anticipated, annual Bake-Off competition.

 

Inspired by the popular television series, sixteen budding-bakers in eight pairs are competing in a series of culinary challenges over the course of ten weeks. Each week, one pair is commended with the much-coveted title of ‘Star Bakers’, with competitors accumulating points bake after bake to rise to the top and secure a place in the Beech Hall Bake-Off Grand Final.

 

Donning their best aprons and oven gloves, the bakers are presented with a different task each week with themes including cookies, cakes, pastries and pies.

 

The competition, which is hosted in the state-of-the-art food technology laboratory, incorporates a strong teamwork element with the pairs made up of one junior and one senior pupil. The different year groups will work together to help and guide one another.

 

Headmaster, James Allen, commented: “The Beech Hall Bake Off is a great extra-curricular initiative for pupils of all ages, and it is inspiring to see each team so passionate to create and share their best bakes. The challenge presents the perfect opportunity for our pupils to use our first-class food technology facilities, whilst learning and developing valuable key life skills.”
